On January 20th, dance enthusiasts from around the world will arrive in Tel Aviv for the International Exposure Festival.  The festival is designed to showcase last year’s harvest of new choreography to foreign presenters affiliated with theaters and festivals.   If you live abroad, these presenters just might bring some Israeli dance to a theater near you! International Exposure 2008 ((Though it’s already 2009, the festival is International Exposure 2008 since it is devoted to works created during the last year)) has an ambitious program: by my count, attendees will view excerpts or complete versions of 39 works in 20 concerts over the course of 6 days.   Most performances will be held at the Suzanne Dellal Center in Tel Aviv, with a few outings to the Tmuna Theater, the Tavi Dresner Gallery, and theaters in Jerusalem and Kibbutz Yakum. I’ll be attending International Exposure and covering it here on Dance In Israel.  Check in daily from January 20-25 for updates about the festival’s happenings! For tickets to performances at the Suzanne Dellal Center, call 03-5105656. Continue Reading
